Exclamation Trans Issue - p1762

1998 RAM 1500 5.9L V8 Magnum 4x4
Option Code: DGB (47RE 4-Speed Transmission)

Started with trouble shifting to meet highway speeds. P1762 and P1763 originally showed, was able to shift from 2nd to 3rd gear to get home. Now truck will not shift into 3rd gear.

Had Dropped off at a local repair shop. They had Replace Gov Sensor, Governor Solenoid, transmission filter and gasket, and Downstream O2 sensor. I had also supplied a donor PCM to be slaved, PCM was from 1998 Ram 1500 5.3L V8 4x4.

After being returned truck with local repair shop apologizing, I had checked OBD-II Codes again. Only p1762 is present now. Am looking for any guidance to source the problem causing the code.

We've thrown alot of parts at this truck, has anyone checked the wiring from pcm to trans? or the internal harness. Its a circuit code. I just worked on a truck recently the got a rebuilt trans installed by another shop and had no overdrive, similar circuit code, here the trans harness bent over one of the pins on installation.

FYI, it should be a 46RE automatic transmission in that truck with a 5.9L magnum engine. 47RE is used with the 5.9L diesel engine.

DGB $$ All 4-Speed Automatic Transmissions

A13 $$ 8.0L Engine(Ewa)/4Sp A/T 47Re(Dgp
A09 $$ 5.9L Engine(Emm)/4Sp A/T 46Re(Dgt)
A11 $$ 5.9L Td Eng(Etb)/4Sp A/T 47Re(Dgp)
A05 $$ 5.2L Engine(Elf)/4Sp Auto Trans(Dgt)

DGT is 46RE
DGP is 47RE

P1762 Governor Pressure Sensor Offset Volts Too Low Or High
Pressure should be zero at stop, And increase about 1 PSI per MPH

From my knowledge, the wiring harness on the exterior was checked. But the Wiring Harness inside the transmission was not.

Is there any chart for shooting wires along the harness for proper results?

Look in the service manual it will show what wire is what. Did you happen to clear all the codes after the sensors were replaced? The code is saying the pcm in not getting the correct reading so it's either the sensor or wiring.
