My almost 300,000 rusty MN 97 has sprung a brake line leak, has anyone ever jerry rigged a line before. I see some stuff online does it work? Why screw w/ it; because I'm a bull head German who doesn't want to give up. My wrench guy doesn't want to start replacing lines because it may all break apart. Yes, I know I should replace the truck but I no longer drive it much ie: deer hunting, hauling things(8 foot box), wood etc.

 

If we are talking about the line that goes to rear brakes, just replace it from front to back. Not a too big of a deal to do.

 

And 10 feet of brake line is a LOT cheaper than another truck.

I live in michigan. I have done a couple of these. I replaced the bad section of line, that's it. Some flare fittings, and some line, probably less than 20 bucks. A whole lot cheaper than another truck.
