2001 dodge ram with 5" lift conver to 7"?
Hi, i recently bought an 01' dodge ram 1500. It has the skyjacker 5" lift on it with 35's. What all would i have to get to get 2 or 3 more inches out of to fit 37's? Could i get coil spacers in front and 2" bigger blocks in back? or would i have to change other things as well..........then i was contemplating on just getting the 3" body lift but i've heard bad things about body lifts so im not sure if thats what i should do. Just wanted to get some more input before i decide what to do, thanks

There ya go - I like the way you think
But seriously, if it is at all possible I'd spend the extra bucks and do it right and try to stay away from a body lift. [sm=badidea.gif] Body lifts can complicate things down the road.

I plan to do a body lift on my truck when it gets to the end of its life. I did a body lift before and yes you can do them correctly but its going to cost you . One of the things most people dont know is when you lift the body the bumpers are way off. You get some cheap brackets that lift the bumper higher to match the look of the truck. Your bumper is almost useless at that point. You will need to get a welder out and custom weld some metal in there if you want to do it right. I have heard people say that when in an accident the body shifts on the frame. I did one on my old ranger and it did work but somethings are not the same. I would find someone in your school or in town that did a body lift and ask him how it worked out. I must say I personally would not do a body lift on my truck till it was old and wore out. Then it just wouldnt matter.
Anyhow good luck...
