Default U-joints : how many total?

I want to change the front u-joints on my 98 but I'm just curious how many there are in total on a 4x4? If anybody has a listing it would be appreciated.

2 on the rear drive shaft, THREE on the front , and the two on the front axle.

7!? That's alot of u-joints and they're not all the same either. From what I've been reading:

Rear shaft: double-cardan at the diff = 2
Front shaft: double-cardan at the t-case and one at the diff? = 3
Front axle: each side, behind the knuckle = 2

for 7, is this accurate? Best way would be to take a look but I'm parked in the slush at the moment. So if it's not double-cardan on the shaft it's only 5 I think.

I'm with him He has the correct answer.

Also, I believe the only double cardan joint is at the transfer case. The rest are single cardan joints.

I made a mistake in that previous post, and you're right, the only double is at the TC and the rear shaft has one at each end.
Thanks for all the help. This is exactly what I needed to know.
