Default 2 1/4" vs 2 1/2" exhaust

What do ya think? 2 1/4" or 2 1/2"? Which is a more advantageous setup with a Flowmaster Super 40 single in dual out? Also, the cat would most likely be gutted.

2.25 dual outs because you have a quad cab.

i have single 3" inlet to dual 2.25" outlet with a flowmaster 40 series. sounds great and has more kick. but it does tend to bog down a little if i floor it off the line.

I don't have a cat anyway, but it is 2.5 all the way back to my mufflers, and from the mufflers it is 2.5 into 3 inch tips. True Dual exhaust, it sounds great and I don't have really any problems with it boggin down or any problems with a loss of power. I like the way it sounds, it is loud and gives the boys behind me a chance to crank to stereo up because they can't hear it any more. It is nice sounding.

I've got a flowmaster 40 with dual 2.25" outlets. Sounds nice and pulls well too with good bottom end power. I have never experienced the bogging that nmason describes, at least not since I got rid of the death flash.

I have 2.5's and my high end really huals, I can pass somebody at highways speeds NO problem. But I lost some low end, I can't even squak my tires from a stand still on dry pavement.

Just curious, what did you do to get rid of the "death flash"?
