What to recommend?
GREAT! (not)
now what..... will the PPIII take care of that crap?
Like I said... I JUST replaced the motor and I DO NOT want to have any ping problems which could lead to damaging the engine.

I think mine has the death flash, says software update 2001 on the PCM, but from what i have read people who have this cannot even get the tires loose from a standstill, but if i stand on it the spin alot and i have 305/70/16 tires. Does the software update mean i have the death flash???
I don't believe you can tell whether you have the 'Death Flash' by that particular TSB sticker,
but any Dodge 5 Star Dealership can run the complete history of your truck and
show what PCM computer flashes have been applied.
There are several 'Death Flashes' besides

It is just a ignition timing retard of a few degrees.
which can be compensated for relatively easily
by slotting and moving the Crank Position sensor
at the lower rear of the engine to bellhousing flange.
A large sparkplug gap combined with a slight retard
of ignition timing can actually improve both HP and
fuel economy a little bit without making you use
higher octane - but you have to regap your
plugs more often, or use some of the more
expensive irridium tipped sparkplugs like the Denso
or NGK BK series.
