RE: cargo light
depends
you can hack the wiring on the headlight switch so only the cargo lamp comes on but then you lose the dome light function... i dont think theres any kinda relay wiring you could stick in there b/c of the nature of the switch..it has to pass the dome light position in order to activate the cargo lamp ... you could hack into the cargolamp wiring and wire that to a separate switch .. withc would prolly be the ebst bet.... other then that i cant think of a whole lot of options... the actualy switch and how its made is whats keeping you from modding it to be able to do both functions separatly and by themselves

RE: cargo light
wiring aint that hard dude.... any help needed pm me... a monkey can do it... ive seen it... no joke... well i am joking...just tryin to make you feel better! basic things you gotta remember... if you ahve a +wire you gotta have a - wire somewhere... and they dont put the colors on the wires just to make them pretty... other then that.. anyone can do it... its when you get into 5wire 2 relay door circuits and fluctuating AC current for sensors and readings is wehre it gets tricky... then you get into transisters resistors capacitors...then you build your own computer... then you fix everyone elses screwups... then you mobile install for a few years...then you sit there and wonder why your going to school for something COMPLETLEY different then what you know like the back of your hand....
sorry for the rant....i need a beer[:@]

RE: cargo light
yup sounds like you do haha.. i've wired acouple foglights and stuff up before to a seperate switch.. but i've never spliced into a exsisting wire and ran off that to a seperate switch.. thats all confusing to me im better off just letting my interior lights turn on when i want the cargo light on haha
