Default tranny swap

Does anybody know if you can put a 5 speed into a truck that used to have an automatic trans. I know that I will have to install the clutch and the clutch pedal but will it adversly affect the pcm in a way so that it isnt possible? The truck that i want to put it in is a 94 ram 2500 4x4 with a 518 tranny and .355 rear end. the five speed will be coming out of a 96 ram 3500 dually 4x4 with 4.10 rear end.

Default RE: tranny swap

You'll need a PCM from a 94/95 5spd 4x4 with whatever motor your truck has in it. Also, what motor did the 3500 have in it? If it had a V10 or Diesel, the transmission is not gonna work with your motor. The pattern on the bellhousing is different than the one for the V8s. There may also be some wiring changes that need to be done. [>:] Do some searching on this forum. The 5spd swap has been discussed before.

Also, you may want to check out the factory service manual that is available for download in the "merry christmas guys.." thread at the top of this forum.

Good Luck!
