you should have no problem, it's the same block but it has a different cam in it. not sure if there is anything else different but I know for sure the cam is not the same.

welcome to DF!

The heads are different as well if I'm not mistaken.

Shouldn't be any problems though.

No they are not. they are the same crappy heads that the stock magnum motor has on it. If your thinking of the r/t heads, they are an aftermarket MP head which was never put into production on a magnum motor for our trucks & daks...

I was thinking that there might have been a difference in the intakes but now that i think about it more, I have an r/t intake on my motor now and it is no different than the stocker.

I see...I did not know that. [>:] He'd be better off just getting an aftermarket cam then, rather than switching motors. Then again....I dunno why he's asking about the motors. [&:]

I know the R/T vehicles (or at least the Durango) had a reprogrammed PCM...most likely just the Mopar Performance one that's available for purchase from any Dodge dealer.

yup, it's better to go to krc performance and look at their power packages and go from there. you can easily make more than the r/t motor with simple bolt ons.

Magnum RT Package consists of 5 items

Mopar cold air kit
Mopar M1 intake manifold
RT cam (low duration/not worth installing for cost)
Mopar performance computer
Mopar headers

They use to advertise 46hp/57lbft of torque for the package if I remember correct, have to look it up

Is there a site anywhere that confirms this? I have never seen an M1 on a stock ram... all of the R/T's I've seen have the kegger on there and I picked up another kegger this past summer that came from an R/T Durango...

if that manifold was ever in production on a truck, I could get away with using one here in CA... (not on my current truck... it's too heavy)
