how duz a guy go about testing the TPS i notised today that every once and a while when im in O/D it revs about 200 rpm. am i right in thinking its the TPS and if so how do i check/test it

If you have the "fluctuating rpms" at cruise speed - your TPS is probably bad. I don't know how to test it, but I do know they have them at most auto parts stores for around $35 and it takes 5 minutes to switch it out. I'd just change it.
