Hey guys/gals,
I am installing a new head unit and 2 sets of Infinity 6010cs in my ext. cab. The guy at the car stereo store told me that I do not have to bypass the Infinity (crap)amp when I wire in the Alpine head unit and use a Metra wiring harness adapter. I am planning on using the existing speaker wires for the 6010s. He said that the infinity amp is fine to just "play thru" Is that true? My understanding is that this existing Infinity system is the one that is rated at 2 ohms. Can you all help me as to wheter this guy is right?
Thanks everybody

Nope, you dont have to bypass the Infinity Amp. I have owned a 2000 RC and 2001 CC Dakota both with the Infinity setup. Neither time did I bypass it. The wiring harness was wired correctly and that's all you need to do.
If you want to run subs and such, you can.
The Alpine head unit is probably the best choice for the Infinity setup, as you can micromanage your highs, lows, and subs with the actual head unit.
