im gonna be changing my frount axle u-joints today anyone got a tip on how i can take out/put in the axle ahafts with out damaging the axle seals last time i changed these u-joints a musta scored the drivers side seal and it started leaking after and what a pain to change those

 

The only tip I have is to seperate the hub from the axle shaft before removal. Don't try to pull it all out as a unit. Don't try to reinstall it as a unit either.

well i did them today so well see now if the axle seals are gonna leak. the one cap was so badley waren i couldent get it out i finaly got mad and took them across the street to my buddys at the tire shop and they presed them in. the pass side one was so bad that it was just waring through the sade of the cup i cant belive they were so bad after 30000 kms i was gona get some pics but i forgot to bring them back i dont know if i woulda even wanted to post them i would be embarssed. on the outher hand i did get a cupple good deals today i was working on my truck (at the shop at work) and a guy retuened a air halwk flame grill insert (stainless steel) so i pickes that up then wen i went to get some more gear oil to top up the front end they had a reflective air intake that will work on my truck (ive posted before because i have an aux bat and some outher wirring) its duzent have a air box arount the filter to separat it from the moter but i think i can fab up something. anyways thats where im sitting i dont really like typing so im gonna shut up now
