Default Seatbelt Help?

My passenger's side seatbelt has locked in the fully retracted position. These are the in-the-seat kind of belts and it won't release enough to use. Is there a catch inside that I can access to release it? There's maybe 1/2" of play.

Are seatbelts covered under a long-term warranty? Many manufacturers warrant the seatbelts for the life of the vehicle, but I can't find any reference to seat belts from Dodge.

Thanks in advance!

I fixed a similar problem once. Remove the panel to get to the spool. Spray lots of lube on the sides of the unit where the gears are but not on the belt or else your passengers will get greased. If you have a compressor spray some air in that area to get rid of all the dirt/dust that may be interfering.

ryans590 is right, check the connection under the seat first. I was fooling around with mine because the seat belt light on the dash would not go off and discovered that if the plug is disconnected under the seat, the belts lock and will not pull out when the ignition is turned on. Even if the plug is connected, unplug it and plug it back in to try to restore the connection. Remember to turn on the ignition to check it.
