HELP!!!! - always fuel pump
I have a 96 Dodge Ram Wagon 2500 with V-8.
PROBLEM:
(at first) Van would start running poorly when gas tank hit 1/2 full. Would loose exceleration, would only get up to about 30 mph. Someimes would just flat not start.
(mechanics would say) bad fuel punp. I'd replace fuel pump, but within 4-8 weeks problem would sart again. Went to different mechanic, said samething, bad fuel pump. sure enough 4-8 weeks later same problem. Finally one mechanic says you need to put the fuel pump made by Dodge on it because the other fuel pumps for some reason are not suffecient enough to pump fuel. Replaced with a new fuel pump from Dodge. This time it worked for about 6 months, but low and behold, Van won't start. new mechanic says, "bad fuel pump." AGAIN
(HELP) I've gone through 5 fuel pumps and 4 mechanics. I cannot believe I've purchased 5 bad fuel pumps!! Something must be causing these fuel pumps to go bad. I've read on other forums about others having the same problem, but no answers. At wits end on what to do!!
Anybody got any ideas or have heard of this same problem. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. thanks Steve
