Default More New Emblems

.
For X-mas, you all may remember that my wife got me the '05 Ram tailgate emblems. I installed them on my already cleared tailgate. I think they turned out great! But, I still had the factory 2nd Gen door emblems.

Well, for Valentine's Day, she surprised me with the 'Ram 2500' Door Emblems. So, I was able to replace these original ones with the '05 ones, for a total cleaner newer look.

The Before shot...

Here's a shot of the newer emblems installed. Since it was snowing outside, I'll have to get a shot further away. Our 2nd Gen Rams have a body line midway on the door, unlike the 3rd Gen trucks, but I think it still looks sweet!

Now the only thing left is to decide whether to reinstall the 'Magnum V8' emblems back onto the truck. Putting them back onto the door with the new ones, would not look right I think. Here's an option that I'm considering... putting them where the Cummins badge is on the '05s. Between the corner light and the front wheelwell. I'll have to think on it a while before acting.

Don't bother with the V8 badge at all. For starters, putting where you suggested is where it goes on a Dakota. Also, I think your truck looks much cleaner without it. It's not a silver styled badging like the new ones are. I dont see any point in putting it back on.

Hey, they looks sweeet! I've got to do that to my Ram. How much did the tailgate and door badging run you?

I second all yours. The V8 emblem kinda looks like where it would be on the 1st gen durango 5.9s. I'd say maybe leave it off or stick it somewhere else. Maybe on the hood. Only jokin'

The door emblems as well as the tailgate HD and 4x4 all come on pre-spaced sandwiched between two pieces of plastic. You peel the sticky side off, and then use the other to apply the emblems. Clear plastic, which also helps with getting them straight. I went by my local dealership and measured ones on the lot, to get them in the right places. Had to compensate for the different size gate and doors.

We'll see on the V8 one. I guess on the 3rd gen rigs, they don't have a 5.9 badge.

Oh, the costs:

The door 'Ram 2500' ones were $27.90 each
I'll have to dig out the receipts for the tailgate ones.

Someone on another forums says to get the Titan 5.6 emblem, and turn the '6' upside down. I'll have to see what they look like.

The door emblems are sweet man! Within ten minutes of reading this thread I headed to e-bay, managed to find a pair for $20+5 to ship them. Great idea man! Love the small thing you can do that make a huge difference! To a trained eye that is!
