If more problems are arising you really do need to check the codes...That does actually tell us whats wrong with it. Stop putting it off!

Run a compression check after running the codes. That will tell you where the leak (blown gasket) is if that is the problem

i had a problem kinda like this but insead of black smoke it was spraying water out the back and i had to floor it to get up my drive way and it ran like it was running on only 4 cylinders witch would explain why i had actual water comming ut the exaust. i had to replace the drivers side cylinder head and the other needed the valves done. it took about a week to get the parts off and into the shop then another to put it all back together and this was only working on it after school. it's realy not that hard to do just make sure you box all the bolts and i took pics to see how everything went back together. you might just have a blown head gasget i would watch your coolent level if i were you.
