Default Foamy PS fluid?

The power steering fluid was foamy when I checked it last night in my '01 2500 CTD. It's been cold here in CO, any ideas why this is happening? I need to fix this ASAP.

Thanks,

foam in any kind of oil base liquid is usually a sighn of air or water trapped in there somewhere... some foam is normal.. do you go wheelin at all? if not or normally a dd.. then you should be fine.

Either water got in it or it is atf...many people just put atf in it because someone told them they could. You can but it foams up and is not good for the pump.
