dropping drive shaft?

Default dropping drive shaft?

alright im in a delema with the pipes i have it wont fit around the front drive shaft. now i was wondering how to drop the front drive shaft it only has to come down in the front so i can fit the tubes around it... any info would be awsome... i got as far as taking the holder off with the 4 bolts... but it still seems like it locked in there....

ok, so your truck is a 4x4... you need a custom y-pipe made at a shop... there are a few y-pipes out there but they are for the 2x4's only...

You will need to make sure the y-pipe doesnt interfere with the driveshaft when the axle moves...

as for the DS, it probably has some rust locking it in there, give it a whack with a rubber mallet to break it free. also check the manual (downloaded from the Merry Christmas thread at the top of the forum)

I agree with Steve, give her a good wack. Show it whos boss! But don't dent it, that'll screw the balance up.

actually you should wack it where the flanges meet and a rubber mallet wont hurt anything...

you could also spray some penitrating oil in there

so just unbolt those 4 bots and it should come off.. and yeah its a dodge ram but its for a newer one so it just doesnt want to fit in there but i know once its past the drive shaft then its golden. and yeah its hte 4x4
