Help! Ram not starting!
My 1998 5.2L Ram will not start. The engine turns-over but will not start. The truck has been sitting in my drive-way for two months, because it was not needed. The fuel pump will not turn on (no sound from gas tank), so there is no fuel pressure (I checked at the test port). The day I needed the truck the battery was dead so I hurried in charging it without the cables taken off. What do you think it is? Also there is no spark at the ignition coil. Bad PCM?, or one of the sensors?
How do you open those PCM's anyway? It seems to have the covers glued to it. I could see if something is burned out inside.

hmm ist a 98 id say check your codes but you need a code reader to do it (i have a 98 aswell were the onlu ones and some early 99's that cant check out codes with the key turn sequence) well if the truck is turning over and there but not fireing and the fuel pump isent going it 1 check the relay and 2 change out the pump. as for the pcm i dont think you can take it apart i think it is factory sealed
Check the other red cable that goes to the power distribution box (from the battery) for corrosion. Could be that most the systems aren't getting power but the starter is.
I doubt your fuel pump and coil would go bad for sitting for the period of time. 2 monthes isn;t THAT long.
I'd say check your relays and check again for spark. How are you doing it? Using an old pulg and grounding it out or using a spark tester. Sometimes spark testers can go bad though, mine did.

There are no codes, and the relays are fine (I switched them around with other ones). As for the corrosion on the cables there is none, everything works but the engine. The coil is fine (I checked it), and I test for the spark with a multimeter.
Is there some sensor to make the truck think it has been in an accident?

The charger you used on the battery, did it have an auto-shutdown after the batt was charged? Maybe there is a chance the PCM is toast but hard to check. Best way is to swap with someone elses just to test.
There is no spark using a strobe light, I checked for voltage at the fuel pump with the key turned to on and no voltage. The charger I used had no auto-shutdown, and the dealer said they have no way to test the PCM. The cost of a new one is $2-- something + tax. The voltage at the cam and crank sensor is .3v and not the 5v it says in the manual.
