considering selling my truck...
thinking about a 3rd gen diesel QC 4x4... not exactly sure how i'd do it but the current ram would go and maybe the m3... those diesels are damn expensive!
what do youall think? I love my truck but a diesel would be cool! and get better milage too

diesels are sweet, and gas mileage is better..... but right now diesel fuel is more expensive than regular gas. it may be different prices in different locations though.... besides second generations are just cooler!!
yeah, I just crunched the #'s and between fuel and insurance, supporting 1 truck vs 1 truck & 1 M3 is 1000 cheeper /year. however the maint is more expensive on the diesels... I dont know at this point... I think the wife is tired of seeing me with bloody knuckes... lol she mentioned that it seems like every weekend I'm out in the garage working on a car or truck... she has a point.

You would definately have to shell out some big bucks for a new Cummins, but if you can afford it, I'd go with it in a heartbeat! A 3/4 ton Cummins QC 4X4 will hopefully be my next truck.
My father-in-law bought a brand new 2500 Cummins last year (it came in at over $40,000). I have driven it on many occasions now, and I can honestly say that if I were in the market for a new truck, I would probably look for a good 2nd gen Ram (low miles, like new) before I could bring myself to buy a 3rd gen Ram. I just really dislike how it sits, the length of the dash, slant of the windshield, curve of the hood, position of the seats, etc... Its almost like they tried to make it feel like a car inside, but failed. It certainly doesn't feel like a truck inside. Every time I drive it, I am disappointed with how it feels from the driver seat.
Don't get me wrong, it does have buckets of power. That 610 diesel and a 6 spd manual trans is awesome. You could tow the side off a house. And it is so quiet for a diesel. But a '99-'01 24 valve Cummins can easily be modified to make large amounts of power too, and the second gen body style is just better in my opinion. Just my 2 cents.
Steve, have you considered a Powerwagon at all?
