1997 problem
Hi all, newbie here. Iam having a problem with my wife's truck and hope someone here can help me. I will start with our trucks, we have 2 1997 dodge diesel 3500. They are very good trucks and have not had very many problems with them. Anyway a couple of months back my wifes truck started having some problems. As soon as it started to snow here, all of here gauges started to flicker all over the place and it would kick her over drive button out as well. Her battery gauge was reading between 8 and 12. So we took it to a mechanic and he told us that it was the alternator and so we replaced it. The next was the same thing all over again. Then we were told it was the batteries, again we bought new ones and new cables and such. After that everything has been fine until yesterday when it snowed. Once again we took it to another mechanic and he had it for 4 hours and said that he could not fix it because it was a bad ground or short somewhere. He also said that everything with the compute looked OK but then it would just start to jump... what ever that means. Soooo then we took it to Dodge and they said its a bad battery term, which was already replaced. Anyway we are lost on what to do and are looking for some help and so advise. Maybe someone has had this problem before. Thanks for your time. Darrell and Tamme. Darrell_tamme@hotmail.com
check where the bats ground to the frame id think a mechanic would have checked/tryed this but try running new cables from your neg on your bat(s) grind a spot to bare metal on the frame bolt it there then put silicone over it
