Default PCM Replacement and another question

I need to replace my stock PCM for my 98 5.9. Should I get a remanufactured o.e.m. or is there another option available to me? I don't know much about after market PCM's for mopars.

Also, I read VWanDodge's post and the replies regarding cracked heads. Is there anything in particular that would cause the heads to crack? Or is it something that I'll be lookng forward to when I get more mileage on the engine. Right now I have 57k original.

thanks
