what do you think of these 11 codes i pulled?
i finally got around to using the code reader i just got (it worked great by the way, i highly recommend it for the sub $50 price).
here's a link to the auction on ebay i won for it if you're interested in checking the seller's other auctions... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWN%3AIT
anyway, here's the codes i pulled. only the last one is pending, so i assume the rest are resolved. on the first drive after erasing the codes, the check engine light did not come back on, but it was only a 10 minute drive.
P0132 O2 sensor circuit high volts (bank 1 sensor 1)
P0300 random/multiple cylinder misfire
P0301 cylinder 1 misfire detected
P0303 cylinder 3 misfire detected
P0304 cylinder 4 misfire detected
P0171 system too lean (bank 1)
P0138 O2 sensor circuit high volts (bank 1 sensor 2)
P0131 O2 sensor circuit low volts (bank 1 sensor 1)
P0306 cylinder 6 misfire detected
P0307 cylinder 7 misfire detected
P0133 O2 sensor circuit slow response (bank 1 sensor 1) this code said PENDING
looks like O2 sensor 1 is bad, which is probably why i'm still killing fuel, putting a little bit of black smoke out the exhaust, and it smells like fuel at idle.
the truck idles slightly rough, but when on the gas at all runs very well, so i dont know about the misfires.
i had replaced the catalytic converter a couple months ago.
you guys are alot more familiar with any trouble spots in these trucks...any opinions on these results?
also, which O2 sensor is number 1? thanks

Hmmm, Interesting.
Have you changed the spark plug cables recently ? it sounds like it might be a couple of wires crossed. Though unsure why it runs for 10 mins before it dies. I would first check to see to make sure your firing order is correct.
I am not sure if you have a cap & rotor but would check the condition of them.
My friend had this thing happen to him though it was a chevy, had 2 wires crossed and died pretty quick (not surprised it's a chevy )

the #1 O2 sensor is the pre cat one.( before the cat converter) mine was located in my Y pipe. You might want to make sure you look up both the pipes running back from your headers because ive been told that somtimes you can have an O2 sensor in both of them. Not always the case though and it wasnt in my 99.

o2 sencer one is the one before the cat if your gonna change em change them both at the same time bad o2's can cause crappy mileage also id also do a change on your plugs, wires and cap if you havent for a while then drive it around and see how it runs, see if the C/E comes back on if not after a cupple days (or a cupple good drives) check your codes again in nouthing your in the clear.. if so we will half to dig deeper

ok, so i was driving the truck again today, and a little hard in order to see if another code pops up, and one did... when i floored the throttle, check engine light came on. i checked the codes again, and one came up...
P0171 system too lean (bank 1)
so i assume i can attribute this to the O2 sensors? this is an odd code though, considering i'm getting like 6 mpg's, exhausting some black smoke, and can smell fuel at idle....

I would sure like to hear if there was any resolve to this problem as I am experiencing almost the same issue with several random codes including the voltage issue with bank 1 and missfires.
Thanks.

I already have a thread going here https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...ght-turns.html I was just doing some more reading and found this thread and was looking to see what the resolve was.
