all this talk about trannys is making me upset... (truck is under the knife as we speak... or as we post i should say)

i drove 10,000 with manul o/d selection,,, i have 420 lbs of sand in the bed for winter weight... but now i cant say if that extra weight affected the tranny or not b/c who the hell knows

LOl!! I hear ya... I think that mine was going when I bought it though. It only lasted like 2 months... I really dont think that you have to worry about only 400-500 pounds. I would think that it would only start to cause problems when you get to maybe 1,000-1,500lbs. But I really dont know... cant say that im an expert. But ya just gotta look at it like 450 pounds is only like 2 big guys ridin around with you!! I dought that that is gonna hurt anything
