I just read in the DIY forum the instructions for replacing the manifold gasket. The post also mentioned a plenum kit. My 1999 Ram 1500 has eaten two gaskets in 46000 miles. Does this problem happen to everybody? Does everybody just live with it? What is the plenum kit and where can I get one for my 99? I need the truck for my part time job and other heavy labor that my Miata can't cope with. The truck is down now because of that stupid gasket, but I don't want to keep spending money on the same problem. Thanks in advance for any help you can give. P.S. I love the truck and I hate this problem.....

 

get the kit from Huges and it should stop it. and i think it comes with everything you need for like 80 buxs

 

I got the kit from http://www.apsprecision.com/. I threw out the metal gasket and got a felpro one. Other than that, I followed the directions that came with the kit and it has held up good.
