A person i know got an exhaust done recently on a chevy 2500. He had a y-pipe off the cat into 2 flow 40's and then each came out behind each tire with stainless steel tips. All the pipes were custom mandrel bent, he got this all for $250, and that includes all the parts and installation. This seems really cheap to me, it is pretty cheap right???

depends if its all welded or if its clamped... if its welded then thast a great price considering labor and parts... if its just clamped then id see that as an "ok" price...

i paid like 1400... but i bought all my parts and a welder and learned myself to weld and did it myself.. including headers.. (the welder wasnt brand new but an AWESOME deal) now i cant stop welding..i try to find crap to weld... next on the list is a nice miller tig machine
if i can score a decent mandrel bender from an auction or something then im gonna redo the exhaust b/c i hate how i have the pipes bent now... there not uniform and it bugs the hell outa me...

tig yuck i hate doing tig too picky for me i was on a piping progect and it was all stainless steel pipe that i had a special pair of gloves that i onley wore while i was auclually tiging any contaminents and it would flair up they were all xrayed welds too uggg that was first and last big tig prject and aluminum is worse if your doing steel its not to bad but then i just use the mig....but miller is the only way to go lincon is way to overated and esab and L-tec well dont even get me started

anyways to answer your question that sounds cheap to me... but like every one has sed if its just clamped that could be why... in mu opinion you get what you pay for

yea... im actually getting decent welding alum with my medium duty mig machine..its a snap on that i got for dirt cheap from a buddy and i just swap out the weld rolls for whatever im doing... it just goes the argon like you wouldne believe..i think i got a leak

one more thing on the exhaust... if that price is for clamps then your paying someone to do work that you could easily do yourself or with a buddy with minor hand tools and a few hours... you could ge ta kit off of ebay or summit or a magazine for duals thats prebent to your truck and just bolt it up... very easy to do and quite self satisfying

Its all welded and the guy did an awesome job. Considering that i only want one muff single/dual out and a high flow cat, mine would probably cost around 250 also.
