Emblems... I was considering de-badging it to make it cleaner...

As far as the fuel milage goes... it's getting 17's right now and is not yet broken in from what I understand... should continue to climb as it gets older. Also some of the future mods will increase the milage on it... (probably will offset the oversized tires & lift though). Between the insurance savings (dropping the old truck & M3) and the milage difference, i'll be saving about 200 bux/mo. Maint. however is a bit higher so it'll bite into that a little.

Also for anyone who is interested in anything I pull off the truck... PM me. I already have pm's on the MSD stuff and the Hypertech but neither have sold yet. I will let everyone know if I pull anything else off...

I have read that the best way to break in a diesel engine is to tow or load it down to near max after you have about 7000-15000 miles on it. I don't know if this is true or not, but it is similar to the way my father-in-law breaks in his diesel tractors. He runs them easy for a certain amount of hours (not too many), then loads them down pretty heavy to break them in. Then, they seem to run really strong for thousands upon thousands of hours. In fact, once, we were comparing why two of his tractors (which were identical John Deere 4640's with about the same amount of hours) performed very differently while pulling the same implement. He said it was because the one tractor was not broken in correctly. By the way, he breaks in his diesel trucks the same way. When he bought his '99 2500 Cummins (it had about 20,000 miles on it), he took it to Oklahoma and hooked up to a gooseneck trailer with a tractor on it (weighed close to 15,000 lbs total), and towed it home to Colorado. He told me at the time that it was a good thing to do to break in that Cummins before he put to many unloaded miles on it. He plans to do some heavy towing with his '05 when it gets a few more miles on it (it only has about 4000 miles right now). He has a '93 Ram 250 that he did the same type of thing with. It has over 250,000 miles on it now (don't know the exact amount since the odometer hasn't worked on in for about 2 years). It's purely a pasture truck now, but is still really strong.

I don't know for sure about all this, just passing it along for your consideration.
