Default Speaker wiring

I just bought some better infinity's to replace the front door speakers and when I took the old speakers out I was amazed at the amount of wiring going to the old speakers. It seems there are about 8-12 wires. Does anyone know which ones are the proper ones to use or is it better left to a proffesional?

They are infinitys and they had some eletronics attached to the speaker magnet with all the wires. I tried using the black and the red and I didnt have any sound, so I just left it all inside the door and hooked it up like it was on the old speaker, but they dont really sound any better.

You have the Infinity Premium sound package.
The units mounted on the speakers are actually mini amplifiers/crossovers.
I havent disconnected them yet, but eventually they will be gone.
Your aftermarket speakers will work fine, but the crossovers will cut the sound at higher volumes to protect the speakers.
My Polks are capable of handling more power than the factory set up, but I decided to try it with the amp/cross set up.
When I do change it out, I'll probabally hit or miss the wiring. First of all, use a test light to make sure you DON'T use the power wire!!!
The others will just move sound to a different speaker.
I believe the mass of the wiring also feeds the rear door speakers. Just keep both door panels off per side so you can trace the color codes of the wires to be sure.
Driverside front to DS rear and pass side FR to Pass side rear.
My problem is that I get unbelievable highs to the point my treble is knocked almost back to totally off.

Ouch what a mess!

If it were me, I would just ditch that infinity premium sound package and rewire the truck =), but only because I'm **** like that and would run my own audio set up with 14 guage wires instead of the factory 18 with a 4 channel amp.

I think I may be busting back into my audio system today to inspect the drivers side door speaker (its blown i believe), I'll tell you the color of those wires, but I dont have the premium sound package, hopefully that will help a little... I think.

Did a search on Crutchfield with your trucks info. The link even mentions the factory wiring issue at the bottom.
