where is the steering box on a 97 ram? how do i adjust it? can anyone take a pic of it?

If you don't know where it is, I would definately let a friend that does do the adjusting or at least help. No offense but if you over tighten it, the steering can stick(not return to center), and wear out the gears.

Its kinda hard to explain, but open your hood and on the drivers side you'll see a shaft that comes of the fire wall. Thats the steering shaft that connects to your steering wheel and gear box. Follow the shaft down toward the front axle and it will hook right up to the box.

At the top of the forum click on the FAQ, bamory did a nice write up on how to adjust it and its pretty long so I don;t wanna re type it

I guess you could over tighten it but in his instructions he says to tighten it, then loosen it 1/2 a turn. So if you do what the directions say you shouldn't have a problem. I did this and it helped my steering out quite a bit, but there is still some play.
