Default ?'s about body lifts

im looking into getting a 2 or 3 inch body lift... how easy is it to do it yourself? what are things to look for.. and potential problems in the future?

The bumpers, you will need a hand with. While my friend was there I had him set the blocks under the bed while I lifted it one side at a time. The rest I did myself. Piece of cake. Floor jack and some wood blocks to lift with. Loosen wire loom across the top of the cowl area. The front edge of the frame needed about a 1/4" or less trimed off the bottom so the bumper bracket would hold the bumper where I wanted it. ****...





The only item I needed to go out for help with was the 4X shifter. On mine it is curved, so it needed to be cut and an extension welded in that came with the kit. The later models have a straight shifter, so you can leave short or drop by a shop and get someone to weld the extension.

i have a 5 speed manual will the body lift affect it any do you know?? and i dont have a welder so is it absolutely nessacary for one?

with a 5speed you might be able to get away with a 2' without cutting the stick. anything higher and you may have to.
