bypass muffler
My cat was going bad so i cut a small portion (4 inches) out behind it trying to get enough of the honeycomb out to make it stop rattling, i am planning on getting the cat replaced with a high-flow soon. But the exhaust sounds really good now and loud bypassing the muffler, i do not think that i want to patch my cut i made out in the system. I live in Massachusetts, and since aftermarket exhaust is legal, and there are not really any laws saying how loud a vehicle can be, can a cop pull me over on just the assumption that i have no muffler or it is too loud??? Also, i want to get a super 40 or delta flow 40, how much quieter is the truck with one of these mufflers compared to no muffler??? Also if i get pulled over for it being to loud, can i get fined or just a "fix it" violation, because the muffler is physically still on it there is just a 4 inch cut made behind the cat, if you look under quick it looks like the muffler is still functioning.
Thanks
