Default Bored, playing with emblems

So, I guess I have too much time on my hands, but I was playing around with some emblems today. Ever since I first saw it, I like how the grille on the '06 Dodge Charger R/T (maybe other R/T's as well) had the "R/T" designation in the grill. Kinda lets you know what's inside. Like this:

So, I decided to do the same with my truck. Mine's not an R/T, and I won't pretend that it is. But it is a Magnum and I found this emblem on eBay. It can be mounted with two mounting pins that are on the back, or you can cut those off and mount it with 3m tape that's also already on the back. I left the pins on, and bought a pack of two T-Nuts (10-24 x 9/32) from Lowes. They screwed onto the pins nicely, securing it to the grille, and since the pins are plastic, they cut their own thread as I screwed them on.

Anyway, thought I would post this with enough detail in case anyone else wants to do the same. The emblem can be found on eBay by searching item number 4598348994. Total price (emblem, shipping, t-nuts) was $20.

Neat, but it needs to be a bit bigger IMO. Maybe a V8 symbol? I dunno.

Props for your creativity I suppose

i think you have a nice idea there. i don't much care for the black background behind the magnum though. it looks better if the letters have no background, like the r/t. and if it was a little bigger. but again, cool idea! i gotta see if i can find some big magnum letters now...thanks for making me waste more of my money silver_dodge!

Ya, I agree, could have been bigger, but I used what I could find. I thought about doing the V8, but that is already on the door, so I wanted to do something different on the grill.

Here are some others I was thinking about. Saw each on eBay at one time or another. Some are expensive becasue they come off rare cars from the early 70's. I didn't want to pay $60 just for an emblem.

If anyone finds anything better, post it.

Maybe move the "V8 Magnum" from one of the doors to the grill, and remove it completely from the other door. That would be a little bigger maybe.

.
I have my MagV8 ones from my doors, removed when I did the 3rd gen emblems. Was trying to figure out what to do with them, since they wouldn't look right together. May see what it would look like on the grill. Thanks.

Yours looks cool. I'd maybe move it up and in just a hair.... more out of the corner.

i was thikning with your silver dodge i bet the 3rd gen emblem conversion would look sick on your truck..and them emblems ar a bit larger... so what i had in mind if you found either a magnum or a V8 symbol in the 3rd gen emblem font and put THAT where that magnum is .. it would look kick ***...

NO ONE LAFF!!!!! its just to illustrate the idea... picture to horrid V8 in chrome and font of the 3rd gen emblems like Two60s98 has on his ram... hope ya dont mind i massacred your pic silver

you have to click the thumbnail to see what i did
