Default Rancho 5000 shocks

I just replaced the factory shocks with the Rancho's. Because the new shocks are considerably stiffer than the old ones I don't know if something is loose now.

When I drive down the road it feels as if something is loose. I can feel the cracks, bumps, etc. from the road in the floorboard. I hear a "clunk". Is it just because the shocks are that much more stiffer? Just to make sure I tightened the shocks down good I stopped at a shop and had the manager quickly check and tighten them. I still hear and feel driving over the cracks.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated for those of you who have after market shocks.

Thanks,

Mugs

I have the same problem and have the same shocks. I am almost certain that it is my driver's side upper control arm bushings, just haven't gotten around to fixing them yet.

i have those shocks.. i can feel the bumps and that is because the shocks are stiffer.. but my rear left side shock is always loose at the top.. my old one did the same thing so i thought the bushing was bad.. but this does it too.. what could be wrong with it? is the bolt hole elonggated or w/e??

I have the RS5000 shocks also. They are deffinately rougher/tighter, but I do not have any clunking sounds.
I take it the sound wasn't there before the shock change.
Are you missing a wrench that might be wedged in somewhere?????????
