Default Need Tire Advice

I'm looking to replace the stock rims and tires on my 2001 Ram SLT 4X4 Quad Cab. The more I research the more confused I get. Can I go to a BFG 285/75/16 on a 16X8 without rubbing? What about 17" or 18" rims? Any recommendations or insight would be greatly appreciated.

As far as 16, 17, or 18" rims. Look at the tire prices and what sizes are available for each. I've heard a few guys say that 17's didn't have as many tire sizes to choose from. Everone and their brother makes a 16 X something.

Price and availability will most likely be the determining factor.

exactly... when you run 17's its a pain in the a$$ so find exaclty what you want for tires..and for some stupid reason the 17" tires are way more expensive then 16"... thast what im doing...and eventually ill save money in the long run... ditching the 17" offroad alloys and going to some procomp 16" rims so tire after tire itll be cheaper.. like chopper said everybody and there brother makes a 16" rim fitting tire... but theres alot less options when you are in the 17" range...
