OK, call me a newbee, but is there something special about a fron grille for a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport?

I always see replacement grilles for later models (2001 on etc). but it always says excl. sport?

I have a black one right now but wanted the chrome look. Anyone help?

I'd paint it the same color as the truck keep the inserts black unless the truck is black then use custom inserts. Once I get the eng mods done that big hunk of crome is gone.

 

Yeah, the truck is newly painted gloss black.
Just looking for which ones will fit or not (by year etc).
Is the 'sport' different at the grille than others

 

It shaped different. The sport has a different grill and front bumper cover. Look at other ones one the road, their not much different but you can tell.

i would like to have a painted grille. seems like ppl want what they cant have, right. eventually ill either paint mine or get a new one.
