Default question about my ram

I have a quick question. I have a 01 Sport and as far as I know no Off-Road package. My ram sits higher than most other 4x4 rams that my friends own, and now for the last 2 days Ive parked it next to a guys 4x4 OFF-ROAD ram when Im at the gym and my truck sits just as high as his. As far as I can tell, everything on the suspension is stock.. The stock black shocks, no spacers on the springs or anything. Can anyone tell me why my ram sits as high as an Off-Road?

you said everything on the suspension is stock..... do you think there may have been a body lift on it when you bought it?

for a stock offroad package the truck shoulda came with 275 75 R17's .. not a BIG difference from a 285 but still could make it look a little little bit higher. stock offroad packages didnt have front spacers .. only 2" lift coils..(which you cant tell by just lookin at the fornt suspension) and the rear 2" blocks..and various other items liek skid plates underneath and 17" "offroad" alloys

easier way to tell .. look at the rear leaf packs..and see if the packs are resting on the axle itself or if theres a block in between them... OR you could try and count the leafpacks... to see if there was a AAL isntalled on it.. maybe someone knows off the top of their head how many leafs are on a stock leaf pack

heres a pic of what the stock lift block looks like or any lift block for that matter

off road packages of add a leafs.. my 1500 4x4 has that 2 inch lift block.. ram 1500's sit on the axle.. ram 1500 4x4's have that 2 inch block.. ram 1500 4x4 off roads have that 2 inch block plus aal's.. so if you have that 2 inch block with no other blocks on top.. then you have a aal meaning its a offroad.. if not then your just a 4x4.. get a good look at your front coils where they sit a the top and make sure there isnt a spacer in there.. also a good way to tell if you have a off road is that it'll say "4x4 offroad" on the back of your truck
