Default klunk noise manual transmission2001 2500 series ram

pulling away if you put clutch in and release it theres a noise from underneath the truck, and it vibrates or shudders for lack of a better term.dodge says its normal noise, but noise from what? could it be rear axles? also at high speed theres a whirring sound from fifth gear that goes away when you let off the gas pedal. any info is appreciated. had a 98 ram no problems at all, this 2001 ram 4x4 2500 series quad cab has had problems since day one. just had a second catalytic converter installed and an o2 sensor as well.

i have a 1500 5 speed manual.. mine clunks if your like coasting along in first and you keep hitting the gas and letting up.. making it jerk around and thats just because theres a little free play in the rear.. that might be that noise your hearing.. if you get under your truck and twist your driveshaft there should be alittle free play
