no codes poping up besides a speed sensor one that no one cares about. my vaccum is right around 12 at idle, and last time i checked my fuel pressure was 45 psi.

I'm sure if you put a cam in you did plugs wires blah blah blah, so I won't even go there. On the cam, yeah there's only one way to install it, but it still may need to be dialed in. I would call Dave at Hughes. He can explain this much better than I can. Valve timing/ ignition timing? It could be injectors too. It may just have been a bad grind.

If you're going to go through all of the trouble to pull the cam anyway, I would talk to Hughes about that kit. You can get a chain from them that will allow you to dial it in exact. It's not like the 0, +4,-4 deal:

I allready had to put a new timing chain and sprocket on it.... besides the new one that came with my engine last year. And to tell you the truth I am to the point that i just want it to actually run and dont care about power that i will just stick the stock cam back in. I am 100% fed up with it and right now could burn the truck to the ground.

I was playin with it today and here is what i have found.

on initial start up it will rev right up to 2 grand and after a few secomnds it will come down to normal. then it will fluctuate between 0 and 1000 (0 meaning stall) and then when i fire it up again it goes through the same process. I used to unhook my IAC before to make it run and not die, now when i decided to try that again it reved up to 2 grand and stayed there. So by doing that It leads me to believe that my IAC is not working properly, or somthing that works along with it isnt. I have changed the IAC out allready twice in the past few months and a new PCM a few days ago. I checked the wiring a couple months ago and it was sending the right signal to the IAC as well. Another interesting point is when it is fuly warmed up and in park it will actually idle like it is saposed to., but when its in gear, or cold, It fluctuates and dies at idle ( it sucks when it dies in a turn and I loose my power steering and brakes dont work as well) I have to ride the gas and brake when i slow down and am stoped to keep it running. Anyone got any ideas? or is my truck just stupid and unique.

Hey justin I havent got a clue what price for the cam but when it comes off I will let yah know if you still want it.

did a little bit more work today on it to get try and get rid of the detonation. I used the seafoam stuff in the intake manifold and then put on 3293 Autolite sparkplugs (I think thats the right #, they are the coldest recommended for my truck).....Needless to say like every other time I do anything to try and help, it didnt work. I could barley back it out of the shop it ran so bad. Right now it is just parked at my work shop and I am driving our old work ford around. A big BOO on that.
