I have 295/75/16's on mine with no lift on it and they do not rub even when offroad.

I thought I had 16" wheels, I just looked and the tires on there say LT275/70R17 , would these be the size that came on it when it was new? looks like there's a lot of space in the wheel well to go bigger. I don't really understand how the tire sizing works other than the last number being the rim size.

do the trucks normally sit this high or was mine lifted?

my neighbor has a 1500 sport and my truck seems to be about 2"-3" higher.
yep, that's the stock tire size on the stock wheel (for an off road package) and yours is lifted, but its the factory "off road" package lift, which is why yours is higher than the neighbors.

Do those weels come in both 16 and 17"? I love those wheels they look like centerlines to me. I found a set for sale but the guy selling say's they are 16" so it made me wonder.

Nope...17s only. They were only available on the off-road package trucks.
