It says u cant tow with these, so if you have one already in ur truck you cant use it for towing? thats pretty much why i bought the truck.

No, towing isn't recommended. Then again, towing isn't recommended with programmers either unless you use the towing settings.

I've towed with mine. The heaviest object I've pulled was a 16' trailer with a 1990 Grand Prix on it. For heavier loads, like dirt or contstruction waste, I've swapped out the performance PCM for my stock one. I've also swapped it out for longer distances. It doesn't take that long to do really.

The harness should be long enough to where you could mount the GOOD pcm on the firewall, the exisiting pcm to the inside top of the wheel well, and interchange between the two. If you have a pull it yourself junkyard in your area, you could get the the pcm connectors and plug them in to the one that you are not using to protect the terminals.
