Default anyone here use Marvel Mystery Oil...

anyone here use Marvel Mystery Oil in there crank? I put about 12 oz in my 2000 and it seemed to make it run easier with less friction. Just curious to see if anyone else has had a similar experience. The motor definately runs better with it in there.

I've never used it, but I have heard from many people who swear by it.

I think i'm going to try it in one of the Dak's and see how it does. I think the worst case is it needs an oil change.

i'm not sure about the gas motors but i've been using it in the CTD and it works fine. mpg increased some 1~1.5 when mixed with the power service diesel additive. not sure which one is to blame for the mpg increase but for the cost of it... who cares, it's cheep.

Yes they claim that you can use it for that also. So far I have just used in my diesel as a fuel additive and also get better milage. I have also been using it for years to lube my air tools which I learned when I used to work offshors as a commercial diver on the oil rigs. We used to soak the air tools we used underwater in a bucket of marvel to keep the salt water from coroding them and to keep the lubricated.

I've used it at various times in all three of my vehicles. 4 oz. to 10 gallons in the tank as per the bottle. Didn't find any conclusive mileage increase in my gas vehicles and I keep records on fuel mileage on all the vehicles. There are a lot of believers in it at the website "Bob is the Oil Guy". I've also run it through my chainsaw, and it does help keep the combustion chamber clean. It's easy to pull the plug in the saw and look right at the top of the piston. I initially ran some Sea Foam through the saw to clean out the carbon, and run the MMO to keep it clean.

The diesel guys at the "Bob is the Oil Guy" site talk about running the mix of MMO and fuel additive like you describe and they swear by it increasing mileage, so I think your are right on with running the mix.

I've also put some in the crank, but only ran for a few hundred miles before I changed oil. I'm just a little leary of running it for 3k-5K for a whole oil change interval. I've done it several times in my Caravan and Spirit. Of course I have no way of determining any benefit or damage caused by using it. But in the fuel system, I think it is a good, safe additive.

30 years ago I first encountered Marvel Mystery Oil as an air tool lubricant, which it seems to do very well.

I would not be confident putting it in either my crankcase with lube oil,
or adding it to fuel,
especially now that 100% of gasoline and about half of diesels
have catalytic converters that can be fouled/poisioned.
