Door Panel Removal
Hey, i blew one of my front speakers and it is shorting out the whole system so i went ahead and bought a pair of kenwoods. there is only one screw on the top of the door panel, how do you take the door panels off?
pretty sure theres 2 screws in the recess that you grab onto to shut the door and then one at the top right corner ( staring AT the door panel and your standing in front of it,,, near the side mirror) and then a bunch of plastic panel clips...b/c if you break alot youll need new ones b/c they are cheep and suck... use a screw driver (gentle . dont scratch the paint!) and pop on out then youll be able to follow it around and pop the rest with your hands... simple job just tkae your time...
aight thanks, there arent any external clips so i am assuming you mean the clips are just part of the panel. in other words if i push on the edges of the door panel where it meets the metal of the door they should pop out.
I have had mine off several times messing with the speakers. There are 2 screws in the armrests and one on mine above the mirror adjust ****. Then there are about 10-14 of the yellow ribbed anchors that hold it into the door. I start at the bottom with a firm pull and then work your way around the door, some of them may come out and stay in the door, then all you have to do is pull them out and put them back in the panel when you put it back on. I hope that helps!

yea these clips arnt external... they are "fixed" to the back side of the panel and pop into the front side of the metal face of the door... ge them screws out and then grab the bottom map storage cubby hole and give it a hell of a yank and youll see what we are talkin bout!
Hopefully you get all the xmas tree plugs out of the door when you pull the cover off, either that or have one of those "easy off" clip tool things that someone mentioned about in the forum. because when you have pliers and a shop rag to try to take out about 15 little xmas tree plugs, they all end up tearing/ripping/snapping in half =(
Yeah, now my door rattles, i need to buy more plugs =( But I'm used to it, everything in my truck rattles anyways, thats what happens when you have a 12 inch speaker that wants to act like 2 15's =P
