Default HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MY check engine light has been on for a couple months and so finally today i get it smogged becuz i live in california and we have stupid laws like that, but neways i failed and the code P0455 Evap Ctrl system Gross Leak Detected, came up.I already repalced and tightened my gas cap and reset the computer but the light comes on after a couple of days of driving should i take it to a shop or do u guys have any advice on how to fix the problem ? I have tell the end of this month to complete the smog or its late and i have to pay late fees

Check your evap canister for damage (passenger side frame rail under the cab). Check the lines running to it for cracks/leaks. I'm guessing that's where the problem will be. Also, you can have the leak detection pump checked out. Those commonly fail.

You should've known you were gonna fail if your CEL was on. I know that's an automatic fail in the state of WI (in the cities where smog testing is done) I'm sure it's no different in the state of CA.

If you need to pass and don't get it fixed run a can of sea foam through the intake then once its burned out take it out of overdrive and run the **** out of it on the interstate around 100mph then go streight to the test and while you are waitng in line reset your computer. Bam you just passed with flying colors
