Default 3/4 Ton 4x4 CTD springs on 1/2 Ton 4x4

Kinda like the title says...does anyone know if 96 CTD 3/4 Ton 4x4 springs (front and rear) will fit on a 96 1/2 Ton 4x4 with no sport package?

Are you going for a stiffer ride? [>:]

The rears are too wide IIRC. You'd have to replace the hangers as well. The fronts will work.

Noooooooooo...not going for a stiffer ride. I'm going for a "factory" (read: cheap) lift kit. My stock truck has managed to clear 33" tires stock...but I would like to have a little extra until I finally bite and get the Whiplash lift kit! Also, does anyone know how much that would lift the front? I could always have a leaf added to the rear...blocks (beyond factory) are not an option.

Why not use the offroad coils, they are almost as tall as the diesel springs.

I have the diesel springs on my truck... cost me $25 bux and gave me approx 2.5" of lift in the front. the rear 3/4 ton springs are 1/2" wider IIRC so it may not work w/o modding it.

edit: oh yeah, I also have tires that are close to 34" in diameter and they clear with plenty of room to spare.

Sport springs aren't any different....off-road package springs are.

i know off road packages are taller then 4x4's.. but what makes it higher in the back?? i saw pics and they both have those blocks in the back.. (ram 1500 4x4's and ram 1500 4x4 offroads).. so im guessing its a AAL?? if so i'd just get the leaf springs and coils off a junked offroad and put them on

Anyone know if I'll need new control arms if I put diesel springs w/ 2" spacers on my truck?

I think so... the stockers will pull the axle back too far and you'll rub.
