Update....Been running my vehicle for two days without an incident. Even the idle problem smoothed out. I need to do a long trip to be satisfied, but all is looking good so far...

AWESOME!!!

This is exactly the thread that I've been looking for. I ran in to this same problem with my fiance's neon. I've tested everysingle thing that I could, ran extra grounds, checked and replaced everysingle sensor, replaced the fuel pump, checked the coil pack, wires, injectors, even replaced the TCC solenoid, unplugged the PCM then plugged it back in and ran fine for a few hours. This car never threw any trouble codes.it gave every indication that sensors were bad and started messing with the cooling fans andTPS sensor.I did everything short of rebuilding the car from the ground up. The only thing left is the PCM. Got another one, just need to reprogram it.

Great topic SST_Ram

SSTRam, wow, impressive detailed post!
When I was younger I had the motivation and mental endurance to trouble shoot like you did. I'm over thiry now and don't know if I could do it![sm=smiley29.gif]
thanks for the info.
I can only cringe thinking about the number of trips to a dealership it would have taken to fix it.[:@]
While installing my CAI, I found a ground stud that lost a nut and the 8 wires that were supposed to be grounded were hanging in the air. I fixed it and of course my truck doesn't run any better, but problems may occur later.

Iv360ram,
Wait till ya hit 50!
You're just left wondering why, why, why, anything! My kid wants to do all sorts of things and looks to me for help. He has the ambition, drive, and all but limited knowledge, and of course no funds! I have knowledge, some funds but ABSOLUTELY NO DRIVE AT ALL.
I need a nap.

Hey mopowar, I see in your list of mods a "Gatted cut".[sm=smiley2.gif] Would that give me more low end torque?[sm=lol.gif]

I've been reading a lot to find symptoms most similar to mine and so far yours are it.

My questions right now is....What do you mean when you say " I did the scan?"
