front axle keeps looking smaller....
i figure if i'm doin this, i might as well be doing it right. so i am replacing my passenger side hub also. the fact that i broke it in half also contributes slightly to me getting a new one.
anyway, i will be changing out both axle seals and both hubs and wheel bearings.
take a look at my axle lube...guessing there's a little water in there. the gears look very good though, no wear or damage.
got a question on the passenger side though...obviously the passenger side axle shaft doesn't extend all the way into the differential...is there a second axle shaft in there that i need to remove to get the carrier out??
also, should i clean the differential out while its open, and if so, what to clean it with?

according to the service manual, the u-joints look pretty simple to install too, so i guess i'll throw some of those in there while i'm at it.

What he said ^^^^^ unbolt the CAD unit and slide it out. That's the easiest way. You can kind of see it in the crude diagram below.
