ac system
have a small problem with the ac system in my truck, 2000 dodge ram. fan blows inside the cab, system has the correct charge, but no cold air from inside the cab. anyone kno0w if the blend doors have problems with closing. need to really get this fixed before it gets any hotter. thanks.
I'd check the AC system 1st. It may just need a charge.
A good indicator is if the electric clutch on the AC compressor is actually spinning when the AC is first turned on. If there is no, or very little, refrigerant in the system the compressor won't work. From what I've seen, you can then just re-charge the system, but if it's been awhile since it's worked, the compressor could be bad now, since there hasn't been anything to lubricate the seals in the compressor.
Either way, it's worth a re-charge

Pull the switch off the top of the A/C canister on the firewall.
Place a jumper wire across the 2 pins in the plug end and then try your a/c.
If it works then you know it's your pressure switch, as mentioned above, check to see that the clutch is engaging and the pump center is actually turning when you turn on the a/c. If you refrigerant is low, the switch cuts out the pump to save burning it up.
