Default consitering a work truck i found

theres a really nice looking 3500 cummins by me for sale. its a 98 with 101,000 miles on it. also comes with a plow. i have no idea what conditon its in but from the connecters on it it looks brand new. he's asking $13,000 for it but i wana see how low he will go on it. what you all think. ill try and get a pic up

well depends on what you want to use it for. those engines are good for 300k + miles. with proper maintenence and all that good stuff.

knowing somewhat about you, you would mod it the first day you got your hands on it..

i'd say yeah go for it if you can get it lower. also is it a 4x4 or not could make or break it.

be really cool to have a badass diesel 2wd down on the ground and still be able to pull your house with ya. get some banks power to it.. yeah yum.

98 or 98.5?

Basically....12 valve or 24 valve?

The 12 valve motor is more reliable. I'd be weary of a 24 valve...especially a 98. They had some block issues...the ones that were done in Brazil were done incorrectly and tend to crack. The 24 valve also relies more on electronics, and tends to have a LOT more lift pump issues, where-as the 12 valve lift pump will last as long as the truck.

idk im going to call the owner. i dont think it will get any mods as it will be a total work truck exept for maybe a programmer and a exhaust if i get my way. ill let know
