Default Door amps, and their relation to an aftermarket amp. questions

I heard a rumor that installing an amp would somehow ill effect the current system. Something to do with it already having stock amps in the door speakers (the infinity system).

Am I compleatly off base with this?
Will the stock infinity deck have plugs in the back for an aftermarket amp?

I searched, I realy did.

Default RE: Door amps, and their relation to an aftermarket amp. questions

Well, kind of hard to say.

I am assuming your are installing an aftermarket 4 channel highs/mids amp? If so, it would be kind of difficult to do so, unless you rain your speaker wires up to the back of the deck and pluged them in there. ANYTIME, and I will repeat this, ANYTIME, you install a 4 channel amp, regardless of aftermarket or stock speakers, RUN NEW SPEAKER WIRES! Factory wiring is only good for factory rated gear. Even the sound quality is going to improve if you use dedicated speaker wires to run the the speakers. Doing this will bypass the internal factory amp/s witch would be good to do, since you really wouldn't want to amp an already amped signal.

I am not sure what you mean by connections on the back of the factory stereo for an amp. I am going to assume your talking about RCA preouts to run to an amp, then no. There will be nothing on the back of the deck you are going to be using, besides the factory harness for power and grounds. If you wanting to install any kind of amp, I would SERIOUSLY suggest you to buy a decent aftermarket deck and work from there. Aftermarket decks are always a good starting point for a good stereo system.

If you really need help installing something or picking out gear, pm me. I am an installer by "trade" and can be of some assistance if need be.
