Dana 44 or Dana 60 Front Axle?

Dana 44 or Dana 60 Front Axle?
How can I tell if I have a Dana 44 or 60 front axle? According to the driver door sticker, the front axles are rated at 4850#. I would assume these are Dana 60 axles. I have to replace the u-joints and want to make sure I get the right ones before the truck is laid up during the repair. Thanks in advance for any help. Todd

You have a Dana 60, http://dodgeram.org/tech/specs/axle/axlespecs.html rated at 4850.

New member and I didn't leave a signature. The truck is a '97 2500 Ram. The GVWR is 8800#. Perhaps this info would help in figuring out the type axles. Todd
